Stand-up paddle boarding has taken the watersports world by storm in recent years. It’s easy to see why: It’s a sport that suits all levels and sensibilities. Whether you want to find peace in the middle of a lake with minimal movement or you want to make your way through fast-moving water, paddle boarding has something for everyone. And once you have an inflatable paddle board, all you need is some free time and a body of water to enjoy the sport.
The best inflatable paddle boards
What to consider?
If you’re buying your first paddle board or looking to upgrade your current equipment, there are a few important features to consider before you buy:
Size: The standard size for most boards is about 10 feet, which is an appropriate size for most adults. If you’re over six feet tall, you may want a larger board, such as one that’s ten feet or more. Of course, it’s important to note that larger boards are also more difficult to transport. One advantage of an inflatable board over a rigid board is that you can deflate it and store it between uses.
Portability: Speaking of portability, you may also want to see what accessories come with a new board. Many of them come with a backpack, which makes carrying a little easier (but not if you don’t plan on deflating the board every time). Other common accessories include hand pumps to inflate the board anywhere, extra fins for extra stability and repair kits.
Stability: Larger boards offer more stability, but they are also less maneuverable in the water. So, if you’re looking for a board that moves quickly and handles turns with ease, it’s best to opt for a smaller, lighter, more aerodynamic board with a pointed nose. For more stability, look for boards with multiple fins and a top surface that offers traction.
Finding the right board is the first step to a summer of fun and perfecting your balance. We’ve scoured the market to find the best inflatable paddle boards for many users, including beginners, professionals and even kids.

4. Extra large paddle board
This board is the perfect stable surface for tall people. The board is 11 feet tall and 33 inches wide, so you’ll feel as secure as possible when standing on the floating plastic.
You can even share this large board with a friend, and there’s room to tie up your gear if you’re having a picnic on the lake.
“This is an impressive set that has everything an intermediate or beginner paddle boarder needs,” says one satisfied user.
5. Bluefin SUP Stand Up Inflatable Paddleboard
I took it up and down the river, with and against the tide, and even against the current. It was great. It glides through the water when fully inflated and feels like a regular race board. I dare say the only difference between this board and a hard race board is the flotation during the quick strokes of a sprint. The weight of the paddler during the sprint makes this board wobble compared to a hard side-by-side board. For paddlers who are preparing to race and join faster paddlers or who want to have an easier time when tackling open water or rough oceans, the Blue Fin Sprint 14″ is a great addition to your stand up paddle boarding quiver.

6. Atoll inflatable paddle backpack included
I previously had a 12’6" Nash inflatable board with a leaky seam (don’t ask), so I bought the Atoll board as a replacement. iSUPs have come a long way in the last few years. I am very impressed with this product.
First, the pump is really great. I have the old NASH pump (which I hate), a K pump (which I love) but I really like this pump. I could get the board to the PSI goal in a short amount of time and with less effort than expected. It is easy to carry in the backpack, which is very comfortable. The shoulder straps are thick and padded. I expected the board to track better than the others because of the 3 fin design, but I couldn’t really tell the difference. Maybe it’s because all my boards have the same trajectory. The stability is excellent. I weigh 215 lbs and the board never felt low or unstable to me.
Overall, a great board at a great price. I highly recommend it.

7. Abrazo Namaste Yoga Stand Up Paddle Board Inflatable
This is my second Yoga SUP inflatable, and it’s an improvement over my last board. Its colors are bright and clear, and overall very cool! The mat material is very soft, yet cushioning and feels very much like an everyday yoga mat. My favorite part is that it does not center the handle like on my old board, which was in the way of many other yoga poses. It came in a very nice bag, including the pump, leash and fin. So far, this purchase has been great and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wider board with a large surface area for yoga or just want some extra stability in the water.
