Solution to manage type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, overweight and obesity

Pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes

Pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes are on the rise, so much so that in 2010, the World Health Organization (WHO) called on all nations to take action to combat their spread. In 2015, the International Diabetes Federation reported that over 400 million people were living with diabetes. Experts predict that if this trend continues, by 2040, 1.8 billion people worldwide will have diabetes. This article and the research cited in it emphasize that diabetes researchers increasingly recognize that the consumption of sugary drinks and high-sugar foods may be a major cause of pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes (T2D), overweight and obesity. It also proposed a practical and natural solution to fight against these diseases.

Type 2 diabetes and sugar

Normally, sugar is transformed into a simple sugar, glucose. Then, insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, helps move the glucose into the body’s cells. A normally functioning pancreas adjusts the amount of insulin produced based on the level of glucose in the blood. If a person has diabetes, the blood sugar level becomes too high and a healthy balance is lost. My research has shown that type 2 diabetes usually occurs when a person consumes an excessive amount of refined sugar over an extended period. Unlike type 1 diabetes, where the pancreas produces very little or no insulin, in type 2 diabetes the pancreas produces an adequate amount of insulin, but the cells are resistant to this hormone.

Research linking sugar consumption to weight gain and increased cases of type 2 diabetes

According to Stanford University epidemiologist Dr. Sanjay Basu, quoted in the Stanford Medicine newsletter in an article written by Digitale (2013):Researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine, University of California-Berkley, and University of California-San Francisco examined data on sugar availability and diabetes rates in 175 countries over the past decade. After controlling for obesity and a wide range of other factors, the researchers found that increased sugar in a population’s diet was linked to higher rates of diabetes, independent of obesity rates. They published their study on February 27 in PLOS ONE. [1]

FB Hu and VS Malik (2010) argued: Research suggests that sugar-sweetened beverage consumption (SSB) is a risk factor for overweight and obesity as well as several cardio metabolic conditions, including T2DM. [2]

Overweight and obesity

The human body is a remarkable self-healing mechanism when given the right foods. Lifestyle medicine, which involves applying healthy eating to allow the body to heal itself, is gaining ground in the medical field. As a diabetes researcher and lifestyle strategist who nearly lost his life to type 2 diabetes, my life-saving research has shown that pre-diabetes can be reversed and we can put type 2 diabetes into remission using a three-pronged approach. This includes:

A low-calorie diabetic diet: It facilitates weight loss.

Diabetic exercise: Exercise designed for diabetics facilitates the burning of excess sugar in the body, as well as weight loss. Once the sugar has been burned, the body turns to fat for energy. The first fat to be burned is the thin layer that covers the red blood cells. Once this layer of fat is burned off, the red blood cells that transport sugar to the muscles for use as energy are exposed and absorb the sugar and transport it to the muscles. Cells that had become resistant to insulin regain their sensitivity to insulin. The diabetes is then in remission.

Vitamins: A diabetic often needs vitamin supplementation. Vitamin supplementation can speed up the effectiveness of the above two methods.

The man accredited as the father of mathematics, Abn Al Haytham, also known as Al Hazeen, taught his students the importance of evidence-based conclusions. After consulting several health professionals, I did my research and experimentation. I was determined to lose weight and reverse my type 2 diabetes. The development of my three-pronged approach allowed me to achieve my goals in just three weeks. This became my direct proof of its effectiveness and confirmation of the growing claim that addressing excess sugar in the body and losing weight can reverse T2D. In 2009, when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, my blood sugar level was 21.7 millimoles/L - a life-threatening amount. After following my program for three weeks, my blood sugar was normal. With continued practice of the specific exercises given in my weight loss/diabetes program, I went from being 220 pounds overweight to my suggested healthy weight of 180 pounds. To this day, I still do not have type 2 diabetes and I am still at the same healthy weight.

It approved the above three steps by Professor S.M. RAJENDRAN. M.D., FRCP (GLAS), D.Sc. and Professor of Diabetology and Medicine and are publicly available worldwide on the Just For Diabetics website. Adherence to this three-pronged system can certainly and easily enable a pre-diabetic to lose weight and overcome their condition. It can also put diabetes into remission while allowing weight loss, as I have realized myself. Achieving these goals also reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke, two of the leading causes of death for diabetics and overweight people.

As a culinary-trained lifestyle strategist, my personal experience losing weight and curing type 2 diabetes through lifestyle medicine - healthy eating, exercise and vitamins - was featured in WebMD in 2016.

Managing diabetes

Most often, type 2 diabetes is managed through the use of prescription medications. Managing diabetes in this way has allowed this disease - which can be reversed - to proliferate around the world. Managing diabetes means the victim will always have diabetes. While managing diabetes, you can apply the three-pronged method of lifestyle medicine to reverse your condition and achieve excess weight loss. You should also consult your doctor before adding this method to your lifestyle.
