The process of manifestation comprises the steps necessary to achieve a state.
You can manifest a new car, a new hairstyle, a new waistline, a new flower in your garden.
You can manifest an increase in business, an apologetic cough, a divorce.
You can manifest a fresh pair of shoes, a crying child, an empty stomach.
There are many types of manifestations you can make: a better mate, a new nation, a dirty carpet.
There are many things you can manifest, including a balloon, a house in the mountains, or a poem.
What you manifest is largely up to you.
Your spiritual purpose in life will become clearer the closer you are to it the more powerfully you can manifest. Likewise, the more you deliberately deny your spiritual purpose, the more powerfully you can manifest. Denying your spiritual purpose draws energy from goodness. Aligning with your spiritual purpose feeds goodness and empowers it in the world. You have a choice about your energy source. For the wise, it makes sense to manifest with the power of goodness, rather than against the power of goodness, because if you diminish goodness, your life becomes cold, dark and empty. You are always manifesting.
The Tree of Life in Kabbalah represents the process of divine manifestation, the way God manifests existence in a form. Each of the ten divine emanations on the tree conveys a particular type of power that advances the process of manifestation. The tenth emanation, represented at the base of the tree, represents the fruit or ultimate stage of the manifestation process, which appears as a physical form. As the first manifested emanation, called the Crown, the top of the Tree signifies the power of the Divine Will.
The power of Divine Will is unstoppable. Divine Will provides human beings with our power of intention. We, too, can start the manifestation process by intending to make something happen. However, we have been given a certain amount of free will. God only wants the greater good. As we dedicate ourselves to living lives more fully aligned with the good (as perceived by our heart in a state of consciousness), we access more and more of the infinite power of the divine will in alignment with our own.
The second emanation of the Tree, called Wisdom, conveys the power of Divine Wisdom. Think of it as the ultimate level of total wisdom. Think of it as perfect wisdom. We humans have a measure of wisdom ourselves, and the more wisdom we seek, the more we find. Our level of access to divine wisdom guides us in all our choices. As we desire the greater good, we access more of God’s perfect wisdom to guide us in our choices, and ultimately everything we say, think, feel and do comes down to choice. Your current life condition is the manifestation of your choices.
The third emanation, called Understanding, conveys the power of insight. This power allows you to learn what you need to learn to manifest what you want to manifest. Here we enter the specific forms. While there are certain universal principles that we all must follow in order to manifest a condition, such as the principle that you reap what you sow, specific manifestation processes require specific knowledge and understanding. For example, being an effective salesperson requires unique knowledge and abilities than painting portraits for example. There are always shared aspects of knowledge and skill, but there are also unique aspects. Divine understanding sees into the very core of existence the ultimate truth. The more you align yourself with fulfilling your spiritual purpose in the world, which is to do all the good you can do, the more you empower your understanding to see deeper into the issues most relevant to you.
The fourth emanation carries the power of grace and is known as Mercy. It represents God’s ultimate gift to you, which is the gift of your existence, including your opportunity to make your way into the unlimited light of pure existence. Through this emanation, you receive those serendipitous experiences called “luck” in your manifestation process. Things seem to work out. Gifts, help, answers come to you “out of the blue”. This emanation motivates you to be generous, forgiving, kind. It inspires you to trust in the goodness of what is happening. It gives you optimism. All of this goes into the manifestation process. This emanation helps you to keep moving forward in the manifestation of what you intend to do, even when things look bleak. It gives you a few lucky breaks along the way to help you trust the unexpected, to believe in positive possibilities, no matter what.
Now a word about the general structure of the Tree. The lower emanations support the higher emanations importantly. For example, by staying focused on the power of the fourth emanation, which is essentially the power to believe that things are happening as you want them to, you can stay open to the higher powers of understanding, wisdom and will to manifest what you want. We will come back later to how the lower emanations support the higher emanations.
The fifth emanation, called Justice or Rigor, transmits the force of justice into the universe. This force is always at work in everyone’s life. They expressed it in the law that you reap what you sow. If you want to reap apples, don’t sow watermelons. If you want to reap goodness, don’t sow cruelty. Everything that happens to you is a manifestation of the justice that operates in your life. Divine justice governs the universe as surely as the power of gravity operates here on earth. When you align yourself with the power of true justice, you get what you really want. When you face adversity, ask yourself, “What can I learn and how can I improve to get what I want?” True justice is not about judging yourself or someone else as bad. It is more mathematical than that. It is more about engineering. “What am I doing to attract this to me and what do I need to do to attract something else to me?”. The attitude expressed by this question aligns you with the higher power of Divine Justice, which brings greater power into your manifestation process. Judging yourself emotionally, others or circumstances as bad, takes power away from your manifestation process, or takes power away from goodness.
The sixth emanation is the most important to the manifestation process. It is called beauty because beauty functions as a channel through which the higher, heavenly powers flow into manifestation. It is the sphere of access. When you dedicate yourself to living a life that contributes to beauty, goodness and truth in the world (and in yourself), you access higher powers of justice, grace, wisdom, understanding and intention to carry out the process of manifestation for you. A central emanation in the structure of the Tree, beauty transmits the power of the love you feel in your heart. The key to your access to bring higher power into your manifestation process is to live a centered, balanced, harmonious life in loving connection with your heart. Whatever the circumstances, if you lose the connection with your heart, you lose your power to manifest what you really want. We will come back to this later.
The seventh emanation is called Victory because it represents the divine power to overcome all forms of opposition. This emanation gives you the power of drive, desire, enthusiasm, courage, motivation, and passion. In the end, human beings do nothing that we really don’t want to do. We just can’t. We have to want to go to work to go to work. Want to discipline yourself to discipline yourself. Be willing to refuse the directive of a temptation to do it. The ultimate victory in the world is the manifestation of goodness, beauty, and truth. As you dedicate yourself to bringing the maximum of these three sacred elements into the world by the way you live, you feel more and more deeply, strongly motivated to do what it takes to manifest what you want.
The eighth emanation is called Glory. It represents the glory or radiant quality of everything you say, think, feel, and do. You never really have any privacy in the universe. Everything you say, think, feel, and do is recorded, and it brings you the consequences of your choices. On the divine level, the eighth emanation represents the perfect Glory of God, the radiance of divine Perfection that we can record and respond to. This Glory leads us from within, guiding us to follow God’s Perfect Ways as best we can. When you strive to show love more consistently in your life, you bring more power in the manifestation of what you intend to bring, and you feel the splendor of a growing closeness to God.
The ninth emanation brings us back to the supporting principle expressed by the tree structure discussed earlier, and it also connects us to the central emanation, the emanation of access to higher powers. The ninth emanation is called foundation because it carries the power of support through existence. One of its fundamental characteristics is stability. On the Tree, a path connects the ninth emanation to the sixth emanation. This is the path of temperance. It represents the experiences in your life that test and strengthen you, transforming you into a more formidable expression of the Divine in the world. Life will shake you from time to time. There is no escaping it. Each jolt gives you the opportunity to wake up and break free from your weak reaction patterns. Remember, in our discussion of the sixth emanation, that you must remain centered, balanced, and stable to access the higher powers of manifestation? Life demands that you become more and more stable, so that you become a channel of higher and higher power to manifest greater and greater conditions in the world. When life “turns your world upside down,” do not resist it. Embrace it. Expect it, for it is inevitable. No matter how much money you make, how respected you are in the community, how good looking you are, how educated you are, what religion you follow, you will be tested, you will be given too much to handle easily, and you will sometimes feel on the verge of insanity, or even suicide. Your job is to go through these experiences consciously to recognize and release the fears that arise and disconnect you from your heart. In doing so, you prepare yourself to become a vessel for higher power, which ultimately empowers you to manifest miracles.

The tenth and final emanation of the tree, as has been said, is the emanation of manifestation. It is called the Kingdom. This is where you reap what you sow. What you have planned is coming to fruition by degrees. As Isidore Friedman said, your life is “gradually moving closer” to your intention. You are now living through what you have manifested so far. The more you live through your current manifestation, the more power you receive to make your life a progressive approximation of what you intend to manifest.
